Deathrace 2009

According to this article, Newsweek is dying faster than Time Magazine.

These old dinosaurs can't even out-liberal rag the liberal rags and blogs that are bleeding them dry of readers and advertisers.

As long as both of these rags die, I'm okay with that.

(Although I wish they'd hurry up about it.)

I agree. Magazines really have no reason for being. The news is many days old and the analysis is stale and dated, the day they are published.

Newspapers too are drowning yet they refuse to wake up. The Chronicle to be relevant needs to concentrate on Texas, Houston and the 7 county area. Its certainly OK to throw in some regional stuff from neighbor states and Mexico. But all the National and International AP article reprints are a waste.

That news is readily available at a myriad of websites. But local, regional and state news is not.

The paper should send all the national and international coverage to its website and concentrate on Texas news. That's what I want to read, that and sports of course. I don't mind shelling a buck out for something I can't get readily on line, but the paper with its very limited local news is dead to me.

I used to subscribe to Time.

If that's liberal, you're a card carrying Fatah member.
