One man, one vote and the foundations of the republic are being destroyed:
ACORN spokesman Kris Harsh said the group does not tolerate its workers paying people to sign the voter-registration cards.ACORN's political wing has endorsed Barack Obama for president, but Ben LaBolt, a spokesman for the Obama campaign in Ohio, said ACORN has no role in its get-out-the-vote drive.
That kind of "political wing separate from military wing" garbage reminds me of terrorist double-talk from Hamas, Fateh, Hezbollah, and other killers of innocent Jews.
If you threw the military wing in jail or lined them up against a wall and shot them all, the political wing would shriek and run for cover.
It's all the same rot, folks.

What ACORN does isn't really a big deal. They pay people for signatures which incentivizes people to try registering people without paying much attention to who they're registering. I'm not going to say its ideal, though some will wax rhapsodic about how it puts money into the community by hiring people who really need some kind of work. I think that's stretching it.
On the other hand, what happens when the second or third registration form hits the secretary of state's office for Laurence Simon? They throw those out. They don't register them twice. Laurence Simon doesn't go voting multiple times all throughout the day.
I'm not going to argue that ACORN does more good than it does harm, though it might, but the right brings this charge out every two years like it's democrats stealing votes.
Oddly enough, they never have this kind of outrage for the thousands of voters illegally purged from voter rolls.
I was talking with a fellow person of color... I mean liberal... the other day and we both agreed that trying to force minorities to vote because they're sure to vote democratic, is just plain wrong. I just hope that there are some right wingers having the same lackluster, not going to do a damned thing about it, conversation about their side's trying to stop minorities from voting for the same reasons.
