METRO: Incompetent, Incapable, Inoperable

If you were at Reliant Park last night for the first night of Rodeo Cookoff, you saw this on both of the card readers at the METRO Dangertrain station:

Oh, and the Barneyfifes were checking tickets earlier in the evening. However, they didn't have their "magic wands" so all you had to do was wave a Fuh-Q card at them and they nodded.

The end of paper transfers is today, and METRO can't even keep the equipment running for major events. Or, if they borked the readers intentionally, they didn't bother posting notices saying anything about it.

They want to build more of these things in your streets.

Anyone else think that this is a dumb idea too?

On the plus side they spell 'initialized' with an 's'. Which makes it all seem so much more continental

Chris:

At least some had the option to take the bus. I on the other hand got stuck in the mass hesteria that is stadium traffic. It so screwed up that they finally had to open the pre-paid lots for cash lots to help with the traffic congestion. Yet another example how Houston's transportation and traffic control sucks. Event was good, especially around booth 250-251.
