Claw

As I was going to sleep last night, I noticed that one of Nardo's back paws was bloody.

He shattered a claw on one of his toes, or maybe he chewed on it too much and split it.

Either way, he wasn't limping or hurt, and he was keeping it clean, so no real need to fuss.

And this morning, I checked on him, let him know everything was alright, but if anything happens with that paw, I'll take tomorrow off.

Well wishes to the big orange cat.

wich:

Given recent history, the Worry Factory is well-justified.

Same thing happened here - Sabre came in with a bloody paw - turned out he had frozen a little piece of the pad to an ice-ball. Somehow he'd gotten a boot off.

Give Nardo a scrfle and a treat...

plum:

Ouch! That's happened to my cat before (another polydactyl). As long as there are no ragged bits to catch on things he should be fine. Ragged bits should be trimmed off.

Refuah shlemah to His Stripeyness!

As well they should, given recent unfortunate events.

With her history, every time Mycah sneezes, or waddles with the slightest hint of a limp, or even if she doesn't finish her dinner, I'm on it like ugly on Rosie O'Donnell.

denise:

aawwww, poor orange boy. He has alot of claws to take care of.

Poor boy. But then, you guys have been hit hard a lot with stuff this year. I think he'll be fine though.

Feline:

After everything you've been through recently, little things are a cause for the worry factory. Polydactyls are especially difficult that way. So many claws to make sure don't get too long! Nardo's got good worriers. :)

John:

Best wishes to Nardo! I hope the issue resolves itself easily. Maddie's claws have gotten so long they've punctured her pads before. We've been trying to trim them ourselves, but it's a fight...Once Maddie got an infection in the paw. Had to have anti-biotics. No big problem, but we were worried. Felt like bad bad cat owners.
Hope everything turns out well. Keep an eye out for a limp.

David:

It doesn't take much to get the worry factory going. I had a case of the sniffles passing through my group. Two or three days with each cat then suddenly gone. Each gave me the look, "why are you looking at me like that???" We're all better now.

Ear skritches to Nardo.
