The Thief-In-Chief

She could try to make the argument that you need to have nice things to help entertain potential donors, but Prinscilla Slade is going to have a hard time getting the jury to swallow this one:

Ousted TSU President Priscilla Slade racked up a $100,000 bar tab at Scott Gertner's Skybar and Grille during her tenure and stuck Texas Southern University with the bill, prosecutors said Wednesday.

TSU routinely paid for $100 bottles of wine for Slade and drinks for her friends and staff, despite a prohibition at that time on state monies being spent on alcohol, Assistant District Attorney Donna Goode said.

What's her argument for this? They couldn't afford a luxury party-zeppelin to give aerial tours of TSU, so Gertner's place was a tolerable alternative?

$100K for a bar tab? Holy cow, that must've been some party. At that cost, I might have been invited, but can't remember being there any more.
