Good riddance to rubbish

Something that should have been done back in 2006 just happened today:

With Milton Bradley and center fielder Mike Cameron likely out for the rest of the regular season with injuries, San Diego Padres general manager Kevin Towers called the Astros to inquire about Jason Lane.

Astros general manager Ed Wade obliged Monday, sending Lane to the Padres in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations.

Yeah, I can hear it now.

WADE: So, what player do you want to trade to us for Lane?

TOWERS: (muffled sound)

WADE: Who?

TOWERS (muffled sound)berg

WADE: Something Berg?

TOWERS: Yeah.

WADE: Um... who again?

TOWERS: Morgan... um... En-

WADE: No.

TOWERS: OH COME ON!

WADE: No.

TOWERS: The guy sucks!

WADE: Well, you shouldn't have asked for him. And besides, you still owe use a player to be named for Ensberg.

TOWERS: How about Lane?

WADE: You get traded for him!

TOWERS: Yeah, well, um... I want to trade Morgan Ensberg for Lane and Lane for Morgan Ensberg. So you've got them both now.

WADE: Oh Hell no.

TOWERS: Please?????????
