St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock was drunk and using a cell phone when he crashed into a wrecker truck.
I refrained from making the same E1 joke with Josh as I did with Yankees pitcher Corey Lidle
But now that this appears to be a self-inflicted casualty (like one or more of John Kerry's Purple Heart-earning injuries may have been), I guess it's time for the gallows humor...
New Cardinals Bullpen Motto: "Blow Point Tens, Not Saves."
(Can someone take away Brad Lidge's bluetooth and hand him a Weekender?)

I bet the Brewers are relieved he wasn't on their roster.

I was wearing my Cubs cap-I live in it-on Monday when some 'gentleman' gave me the international symbol for peace, love, and understanding. Somehow I was thought of as horrible because I would wear the cap of my fav'rite team the day after the accident.
I'm sorry 'bout Hancocks' death but it was the fault of Josh Hancock-not the Cubbies or anyone else.
Here in RedBird land though, if you didn't know better you'd think he was up to be the newest saint-according to some of his admirers.
His death was tragic, but people need to put the blame where it belongs.
