I have a cut on my chin. It won't heal up properly.
So I shaved my face and put some gunk on it.
When you have a beard and mustache for a while, your mind forgets what your face looks like.
Or, more properly, your mind remembers your bearded face as your face, and you don't recognize the beardless one.

Actually, if you *had* to shave 'em off, it's a good time of the year for doing it. Otherwise you run the risk of strange sunburn patterns.

One of my 'blog dads' is a misogynist-and he started banning a lot of women from his blog last year.
Then he sent a few of his 'pets' over to harrass me at my blog.
I had enough.
