First visit to doctor: 232
Second visit to doctor: 228
This morning: 225
I will make the 220 by eight weeks and 200 by year's end at this rate.
But can I do better?
My most frequent meal has been raw garlic, peppers, onions and olive oil topping pasta.
The Mrs. has been great about not bringing in chocolately sugary snack crap that I cannot resist.
Willpower? What's that?
Oh, and salads for lunch, under the watchful gaze of Deskmerc.
I get one non-salad meal a week, and that's today.
If Deskmerc helps me keep to this diet, he gets bread on Monday.
Which, this upcoming week, he will.
It's good to have a support structure in place.
Tonight, I shall stick to the healthy options at the tapioca bar.
I'm sure they will have plenty there, or at least next door in one of the various sandwich shops that Metro's chief beancounter raids for cheap grub.

Congratulations! It's just excellent having supportive friends.
Willpower...have to find an online dictionary.

I'm right around the 225 mark at the moment. Right after Thanksgiving I weighed in at 252 lbs, the heaviest I've ever been. It's hard to lose weight, even harder to keep it off (been down under 200 twice in the past 10 years and up over 240 at least three times). My main problem is food just tastes so damn good. Perhaps I should take up a habit that doesn't result in weight gain. Come to think of it, heroin users stay relatively thin...
Good luck.

Get it, Son! If I can keep 130+ pounds off for 14 years, you can lose a little tummy. Forward!

I've found that I lose weight with major lifestyle changes....and, oddly, it doesn't seem to matter just what they are.
I lost 17 pounds in 30 days on a trip to Europe, even though I ate constantly. I dropped a bunch of pounds in college when I got a serious girlfriend -- and gained more back over the years until we split, when I lost a bunch again. I lost a chunk when I moved. I lost a bunch when I changed jobs...
Considering the bad numbers from my last checkup, I'm considering whether to go into a witness protection program to try to recreate the magic.

Weight control -- the bane of my existence! The only time I was able to get the extra 25 pounds off and keep them off was when I had a walking buddy. We walked every night -- and I mean EVERY night -- for 2-3 miles, and sometimes I was able to get another 1½ miles in before work in the mornings. When I moved from California and my walking buddy stayed there ... yikes!
Congrats for taking ANY pounds off. It's hard work, I know.
=)

Well, Lair, I thought you were a hottie at 232 and I'm sure the Mrs. does, too. (Frankly, I envy her for all those veggies you're constantly grilling!) But I'm impressed with the dieting. Wish I could stick to a salad-based diet. I think your success thus far might just be a good enough motivation to try it myself!
