It looks like Time Warner is going to revamp AOL, because we all know how wonderful their customer service is, right?
And then, there's the fact that Time Warner is doing just great, wonderful, spectacular...
"Time Warner Cable delivered another great quarter," said Time Warner chief executive officer Dick Parsons during a conference call with analysts Wednesday morning.
So when things go great for Time Warner Cable, the first thing they do is abandon Houston:
The Action 13 Consumer Department has learned there will be a big change coming to nearly every cable customer in Houston. Time Warner Cable is leaving Houston and Comcast is replacing it.It was an internal Time Warner Cable e-mail that alerted us to the coming change.
While Time Warner Cable employees cannot talk about the details, we do know Time Warner Cable is leaving the Houston market and Comcast cable is replacing it.
Now we know why AOL-TW didn't have a serious bid for the Houston Municipal WiFi project. They knew AOL-TW in Houston was a dead-end.
I'm looking forward to the massive headaches in addressing. No, really. It's going to be a boom for the Excedrin market.
Hopefully, Chris Baker will get a sponsorship from Comcast so he can say how great Comcast Cable and their Internet services are... until they abandon Houston for the next major operator.

Eh, Comcast will be bought up "the new" AT&T since it was once an AT&T brand. That seems to be the trend with AT&T anyway.

Yep, Comcast was up here in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. And they're being replaced by Time-Warner just in time for football season.
Of course, Time-Warner does not carry the NFL Network.
Thank god I have Dish Network.

I remember when AT&T bought out @Home and became AT&T Broadband for cable TV and Internet. They'd put out ads telling us how bad DSL really was.
Now they're telling us how great it is now that they've partnered with SBC.

AT&T is like a rock band whose members all go on individual tours using the same name after they split up. AT&T bought up a bunch of cable property throughout the 90s. Then they split off AT&T Broadband (cable) around 2000. Subsequently, Comcast "merged" with AT&T Broadband and they were briefly known as AT&T Comcast. I think that lasted about a fortnight and now it's just plain Comcast.
In the mean time, AT&T (long distance) was bought up by SBC to become "the new" AT&T. I have no doubt that AT&T cable/long distance split so that AT&T long distance could eventually merge with one of its progeny.

Comcast just left the Dallas market Aug. 1 and now has became Time Warner North Texas. Shreveport, LA which is part of Time-Warner Texas/Southwest Division also has reverted to Comcast.
