Isn't it odd that during his presidency he's been to countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, but one country that supposedly a strong ally in the Middle East has so far managed to avoid his presence?

Not odd at all.
I don't want to be considered a bush basher (after voting for him twice) but.....he seems to be absurdly addicted to military audiences. Having been in the Army, and seen various politicians hit the camps in Iraq, I will tell everyone these events are staged amid official suggestion of a supportive audience.
Now if Israel gets a 100K American uniforms on her soil he will be there asap. Karl Rove hasn't figured out yet the news footage of cheering GIs is tiresome and troublesome to Americans. Many things the puppet master hasn't figured out hence the record low poll numbers.

Lots of uniforms in South Korea. When was he there last?
No uniforms in Sharm El-Sheikh or the Jordanian coastal town where he had the farce of the Roadmap.

I can tell straight off the bat that he didn't vote for the guy, neither do I care after his comment about Americans being tired of cheering soldiers. How nice.

I didn't vote for Bush either. My reason was simple: a real War On Terror and Iraq Campaign would have rendered Moqtada Al-Sadr into a corpse.
Every day that passes, I feel better about my vote.
