Three years

This is the third anniversary of the breakup of the space shuttle Columbia .

I remember that day quite well. My wife was going into work to feed in the shuttle's landing. She was going to pick up kolaches for brunch while I was making some special coffee.

She didn't come home until the sun was long, long under the horizon.

Bob:

all three of our big mishaps happend within days of each other, just different years, So far I have heard on the news mention of Challenger and Columbia but why don't they ever really say anything about Apollo 1?
oh well, at least they got this:

special coffee? Was there a hint of kaluah in there somewhere?

A fine example of national soap opera.

Most of us were waiting for the ``Crash Photos Page 4'' and all we got was the usual news crap.

Women have taken over.

NASA will not replace NASCAR soon.

The weather radar was interesting for a couple hours, though.

Yeah. Reagan's line "reaching out to touch the face of G-d" still brings tears to my eyes. You got a problem with that?

jc:

And, yews, I remember exactly where I was for both Shuttle failures, and where I was when Neil flubbed his line at Tranquility Base. But remember, the first word spoken by a man from the moon was "Houston"

And, yes, I remember exactly where I was for both Shuttle failures, and where I was when Neil flubbed his line at Tranquility Base. But remember, the first word spoken by a man from the moon was "Houston"
(Sorry, misspelling on first post. Damn low-profile keyboards. Soon as I can find a Remington steam powered laptop...)

I always finished that Reagan quote with "Ewwwwwww... slimy!"
