Grumpus Day

When Edloe was still around, I'd do a whole Grumpus Day ceremony in the morning with her in the morning

She'd be dozing in her Grumpus Cave, and I'd call her out. Or I'd just wait for her to realize it was time for her to crawl out and sit on my boots to keep me from putting them on for work.

She'd poke her nose out and see her shadow...

And there'd be six more weeks of kittytreats.

Not this year, though. The Grumpus is gone. The Grumpus Cave is gone.

There is no Grumpus Day Festival.

But...

On Fwisky Day, when a Fwisky sees his shadow...

What does Fwisky say about the weather?

I think Fwisky Day is a great idea.

It was going to be a Fwisky seeing a Nardo instead of a shadow, six more weeks of hisses.

*Sniffle* ((quivering lower lip)) [remembering Edloe]

Tziporah:

And Edloe is in Gan Eden purring with love for you and your wife.

Miss Grumpus is well worth remembering.

Fwisky Day is well worth celebrating!

So what is it? Six weeks of hissing?

Bob:

The Grumpus Cave still exists, it just moved further South, there just isn't a Grumpus under it anymore :-(

And when a Fwisky sees HIS shadow, we have six more weeks until Nardo catches his first lizard of the season.
