I believe I've asked before what type of piece you have but I don't think I ever saw your answer. Since you live in Texas I would now recommend that you get a carrying permit if you don't have one already.

I maintain a level of ambiguity similar to the Israelis. Should the situation present itself, the person intending to make a victim out of me will know for certain whether I carry a gun (or guns), witnesses will be able to confirm whether or not I'm a dead shot, and the civil authorities will be able to confirm whether or not I have the appropriate permits and documentation.
Until that time, I consider the subject to be as private as Tom Cruise keeps his homosexuality private.
