So, Aoen Flux might be so bad the studio doesn't want to preview it for the critics. Hrm. There goes my weekend.
You see, whenever my wife goes out of town to visit her mom and sister in Florida, I often take the opportunity to head to the theaters to catch up on the latest releases.
Despite the negatives of being out at the movies, I'm still an "In The Theater" kind of guy. My wife's become a "Wait For The DVD" person.
Anyway, I'll wait for reviews of Aeon Flux to trickle in. Until then... let's see...
King Kong? Hell no. Jack Black annoys the shit out of me.
Narnia? Hrm... maybe.
Chicken Little? Oh, hell yes. Although I hate it when I go alone to a G movie and people think I'm some kid of Michael Jackson freak.
Harry Potter? Nah.
Rent? FUCK BROADWAY!
One movie that I will likely see is The Protocols Of Zion Downtown at the Angelika. I can either hit the movie on the way home from work or head downtown on the 9 since I hate parking Downtown, then Dangertrain to the Museum District to see if anything's worth checking out at the museums.
Yeah, I'll have my wife's truck for the week, but I prefer to walk to the theater. God knows, I need the exercise, and I want to get to 200 by the end of the year.

Lair,
If you cab pretend Jack Black isn't Jack Black....you've got to check out Kong. Look at the preview on Yahoo movies.

I don't need to read the reviews of Aeon Flux. The trailer sucked ass so magnificently that I was surprised that the studio is even bothering to promote it.

What about Pride and Prejudice, or Walk the Line?

Every time I see a commercial for "Rent" I get the "Everyone has AIDS" song from Team America stuck in my head.

Everytime I see a commerical for "Rent" I think that the song in the soundtrack is from "CATS" going on about Mr. Mestopoleese or whatever, you'd know - you cat blogger you. Oh that's right, you hate Broadway.
I'm going to Kong just to see the fight with the T-rex and the spider's den. No one can replace Faye Ray as the leade so I go into it with low expectations on that score.
If I use HTML tags for style, will readers get me confused with Minni Pearle?

Aeon Flux fails my "Bus Stop Enclosure Test." If an ad for a movie is using Bus Stop Enclosures as part of the push it's a horridness movie that they didn't want to spend too much money advertising. In the past 5 years that I've walked my route to work every movie I've seen with a poster at the bus stops has failed, and Aeon Flux is prominently displayed right now.

I hate to tell you this, but no one even comes close to being in the same mental zip code as Michael Jackson himself...and it would certainly take a lot more than going to a movie by yourself to convince me. When you start buying monkeys and putting a monkey cam in place of the cat cam, I'll worry.

So like, when did we ever need "the critics" permission to enjoy Charleze Theron romping around in a skin tight costume, firing machine pistols like the vampire babe from Underworld?
From what I gather, most of the film critics are queer, anyway.
So what the crap do they know about hot women?

You want to see hot women, do a Google search for "Charleze Theron videos." Going to a movie theater to see less than what you can get for free in the privacy of your home is just silly.

I look back and I see that I spelled the name of the movie wrong.
I guess that's a sign to blow it off.
