The Democrats of the Senate refused to put John Bolton to a vote according to the rules of the Senate, so President Bush used a perfectly-legal recess appointment to install him at the United Nations.
Not that you'd notice from the screams of the Democrats of the Senate, the leftist aspects of the MSM, etc and so on.
How is one action "illegal" and the other "legal?"
How is one action "moral" and the other "amoral?"
How is one action "democratic" and the other "anti-democratic?"
Each is allowed within the law. And each action isn't what would happen if this were a Perfect World.
But it gets the job done.

They're both legal. The Democrats held up the vote because the White House held up supporting documentation.
In my opinion, both sides lose here. The government is supposed to work together. Since Bush was elected, there has been nothing but partisanship.

There's been nothing but partisanship between the parties in every administration since Nixon.

Also, doesn't the recess appointment mean the Senate has to vote on him when they return?

Nope. The recess appointment continues until the next session of Congress is seated - January 2007.
Bush needs to stop his "my way or the highway" attitude, or he's gonna have a REAL problem with the Supreme Court nomination.

The Democrats of the Senate will get flak for this if Bush has the balls to scream "Vote Up Or Down, Or Shut The F--- Up!"

So that means the Senate Dems won't get flak for this.

Bush was passive in his upbraiding of Senate Dems.
I'd say the gloves are off, but nobody's punching.
